About UCD Buy
UCD Buy is a web-based purchasing system that facilitates the use of campus and UC System Strategic Sourcing Program agreements. The goal of UCD Buy is to become a one-stop shopping area for most university purchases. Current and future catalogs include office supplies, lab supplies, computers, and furniture.
Who Can Use UCD Buy?
UCD Buy is available to UC Davis employees with a campus login ID and Kerberos password. It is also available for approved affiliates of UC Davis.
How Does UCD Buy Work?
- Online catalog browsing and order placement. Find what you are looking for without leaving your desk!
- Ability to combine items from different vendors into one order. Place an order for a new office chair, a test tube adapter, and a keyboard cleaning kit at one time!
- Automatic routing of orders for approval to account manager and organizational review hierarchies. UCD Buy utilizes routing set up for the DaFIS Departmental Purchase Order (DPO) document.
- Ability to track order status online. Find out when your order has been fully approved.
- Automated payments to vendor. No more processing DaFIS AP Vendor Invoices (VIs)!
- Ability to indicate when items were received. The UCD Buy Invoice Verification screen allows you to indicate when multiple items on a single order were received.
How does UCD Buy Relate to Strategic Sourcing?
UCD Buy is a tool that assists UCD in meeting each of the goals of
strategic sourcing. It improves efficiency and significantly reduces overall cost by automating the ordering and invoice processes. Each of the vendors in UCD Buy offers high quality products at the lowest overall cost.
